Imagine a world where young minds get to redefine the rulebook.

Girls to the World: Letters for Change is a collection of letters written by young people aged eight to 23 years-old from London to Lagos, Mexico to Malawi, Spain to Sri Lanka and Palestine to Pakistan; covering everything from war, child marriage, domesticity, the toxicity of social media and climate, to a love of sharks!

Inspired by WOW’s global network of youth activists and our annual WOW Young Leaders Directory, this publication offers insights into the lives and dreams of 27 young people from 18 countries around the world. Full of joy, determination, anger, optimism and hope, their words deepen our understanding of the realities of gender inequity, as they experience it, at the cusp between girlhood and adulthood.

Each letter is a window into what it means to grow up while fighting for a fairer world. The collection is available as an e-book or in print via the WOW Shop, with all proceeds supporting WOW’s global work with girls and non-binary people.
