WOW has produced a new free education pack inspired by REIGN by Errollyn Wallen, which was commissioned to celebrate WOW's 15th birthday at the Royal Albert Hall.

The REIGN scheme of learning is designed to support the GCSE Music course through a flexible series of lessons and tasks. This may also be adapted for KS3 and KS5, and a shorter version is available for younger learners.

Students will be taught key terms and concepts through a combination of practical tasks and musical analysis. They will explore how music is written, performed and how it can be used as a force for social change through clear, easy-to-follow sessions with comprehensive worksheets, audio clips and videos. This is a flexible and engaging way to celebrate creativity, but most importantly how music can make a difference.

Sian Morten, Director of Music at the Mulberry Academy of Music and Music Lead of the Mulberry Academy Trust, who advised on this resource said, "I’m delighted to introduce this inspiring new resource created by WOW - Women of the World. It is built around the work REIGN by composer Errollyn Wallen, Master of the King’s Music. REIGN was commissioned by WOW and premiered in March 2025 at the Royal Albert Hall, performed by an intergenerational choir of women, girls and non-binary people. These sister resources, also commissioned by WOW, celebrate and bring to life the creative process of this inspirational female composer."

For upper KS3, KS4 & KS5

This resource provides up to six hours of guided content broken into five sessions covering key themes from the GCSE Music curriculum. These live in a fully editable Powerpoint presentation which can be adapted to your learners and are accompanied by a session guide for teachers which breaks down the resources and activities in each session. There are two additional worksheets, and a range of embedded video and audio content.

For younger learners (KS2 & KS3)

This mini resource introduces learners to REIGN through practical tasks and musical analysis. Learners will explore how music is written, performed and how it can be used as a force for social change through a clear, easy-to-follow worksheet which should take 30-60 minutes to complete.
